MANDATE OF THE DEPARTMENT:
The External Relations Department mobilizes resources for the Joint Programme which includes core funding, non-core (extra-budgetary funding) and grants oversight, and also leads the engagement with private sector. The Department further builds, maintains and nurtures strategic relationship with a variety of international and bilateral institutions and member states, the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board (PCB) and its members, the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and others, inter alia ensuring that UNAIDS governance remains inclusive and fair, with equal access to engagement in processes, committees and decision Making.
Main tasks and Responsibilities of the Position:
Reporting to the Director, Resource Mobilization, the Officer Donor Relations Core Contributions provides resource mobilization reporting and support for the Joint Programme.

He / she has the following key responsibilities:

a) Support to management and donors

- Establishes regular interactions with UNAIDS staff to obtain information about UNAIDS activities that can be of interest to donors.
- Provides inputs to creating donor pitches and other relevant communication material to support dissemination of UNAIDS activities to key donors and stakeholders to aid resource mobilization.
- Prepares resource mobilization briefing documents for others. Under direction, prepares presentations for audiences within and outside of UNAIDS.
- Develops inputs into concept papers, proposals and agreements for submission to external funders.

b) Coordination

- Supports and coordinates UNAIDS' reporting requirements through interaction and communication with departments and units across UNAIDS.
- Ensures that reports to donors are written, produced, cleared and submitted within the established deadlines and the required quality, projecting the image of a credible and reliable partner.
- Maintains a calendar of donor events and supports colleagues in preparing, implementing and reporting on events.

Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Essential:
- Advanced university degree at MasterĀ“s level or equivalent in international relations, public affairs, communications, political or social sciences or another field related to the responsibilities.

Experience:
Essential:
- At least two years' work experience in/with bilateral or multilateral development organizations, including experience in writing donor reports.
Languages:
Essential:
- Proficiency in English.

Desirable:
- Knowledge of additional UN official languages.
Additional Information:
Positions at the international professional category within UNAIDS will be subject to the Organization's Mobility Policy. The above-mentioned position is a rotational position and its standard duration of assignment is linked to the ICSC hardship classification of the duty station.

Annual salary: (Net of tax)
50,377 US dollars at single rate
Post Adjustment: 81 % of the figure(s) on the left side. This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
