MANDATE OF THE DEPARTMENT:
The UNAIDS Thailand Country Office provides leadership and coordinates the expanded UN system response in Thailand. Using an equity and equality lens as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the UNAIDS Thailand Country Office scales up HIV services focused on key populations and locations most at risk. The UNAIDS Thailand Country Office promotes effective use of strategic information to better understand and track the epidemic and its trends, and to measure progress and sustainable impact of the response in Thailand. It supports efforts to strengthen the capacities of communities and their meaningful engagement in health, social protection, and human rights mechanisms, and provides support and technical guidance as necessary to national partners and policymakers.
Main tasks and Responsibilities of the Position:
Under the supervision of the responsible officer, the Driver Clerk has the following key responsibilities:

1 - Driving and transportation services
a) Drives official vehicles and provides transport services for UNAIDS staff, including consultants, officials and visitors
b) Meets staff and visitors at the airport and assists them with basic visa and customs formalities when required. Ensures the delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items.

2 - Routine vehicle maintenance and documentation safekeeping
a) Maintains the vehicle in a clean and good running condition at all times. Provides the proper day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle, including routine repairs. Arranges for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, water levels and similar
b) Ensures cost-savings through proper use of the official vehicle through adequate maintenance of daily vehicle logs and provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports
c) Safekeeps all the required documents/supplies such as insurance, registration papers, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and other spare parts, as well as keeping track of insurance and other tax formalities.

3 - Clerical and general office assistance
a) Provides clerical and general office assistance to office staff, including but not limited to filing, photocopying and maintaining stocks of stationary; mailing and distribution of documentation, newsletters and publications; payments of office telephone and other bills, as required.
b) If required, provides information and informal interpretation from/to the local language and other services for office staff and official personnel on travel.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Essential: Completion of a secondary school, or relevant technical or vocational training. Must have a valid and clean driver's license.
Desirable: Training or demonstrated knowledge of vehicle maintenance. Clerical or general administrative training.

Experience:
Essential: A minimum of two years of experience as a driver of officials in an international institution, governmental organization, embassy or the UN system with an excellent knowledge of the local traffic rules, regulations and geography. Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in clerical and general administrative duties.
Languages:
Essential: A good command of English and proficiency in Thai.
Desirable: Knowledge of additional UN official languages.
Additional Information:
Please note that for this vacancy, only nationals of Thailand and legal residents holding a valid residence or work permit are eligible to apply. You are required to reside within reasonable commuting distance of the UNAIDS office located in Bangkok. A valid passport will be requested.
Annual salary: (Net of tax)
382565 Baht at single rate
