MANDATE OF THE DEPARTMENT:
The UNAIDS Philippines Country Office provides leadership and coordinates the expanded United Nations system response to HIV in the Philippines. Guided by an equity and equality lens aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the office supports the scale up of HIV services, with a focus on key populations and geographic areas that are most at risk. It promotes the effective use of strategic information to better understand and monitor the epidemic, track trends, and measure the progress and impact of the national response. The office also strengthens the capacities of communities and supports their meaningful engagement in health, social protection, and human rights mechanisms. In addition, it provides technical guidance and support to national partners and policymakers to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of the response.

Main tasks and Responsibilities of the Position:
Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Driver/Clerk performs the following key functions: 1) Driving and Transportation Services a. Provides reliable and safe driving services for UNAIDS staff, consultants, officials, and visitors. b. Meets staff and visitors at the airport and assists, as required, with basic visa and customs formalities. Ensures the timely delivery and collection of mail, documents, and other items.
2) Vehicle Maintenance and Documentation a. Ensures that the assigned vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition at all times. Performs routine maintenance, including minor repairs, and arranges for major repairs when necessary. Ensures timely oil changes and regular checks of tires, brakes, water levels, and other key components. b. Promotes cost-efficiency through the proper use and maintenance of the vehicle, including accurate completion of daily vehicle logs and contribution to vehicle maintenance plans and reports. c. Safeguards all required vehicle documents and supplies, including insurance, registration papers, vehicle logs, office directory, maps, first aid kit, and spare parts. Monitors the validity of insurance and compliance with registration and tax requirements. 3) Clerical and General Office Support a. Provides clerical and administrative support to office staff, including filing, photocopying, maintaining stationery supplies, and assisting with the distribution of correspondence, publications, and documents. Assists in the payment of office utilities and other bills, as required. b. When required, provides basic information support and informal interpretation between local language(s) and English, and assists staff and official personnel with travel-related matters.

| REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS |
Education: Essential: Completion of a secondary school, or relevant technical or vocational training. Must have a valid and clean driver's license. Desirable: Training or demonstrated knowledge of vehicle maintenance. Clerical or general administrative training.

Experience:
Essential: A minimum of two years of experience as a driver of officials in an international institution, governmental organization, embassy or the UN system with an excellent knowledge of the local traffic rules, regulations and geography. Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in clerical and general administrative duties.

Languages:
Essential: Proficiency in Filipino (Tagalog) language Desirable: Knowledge of additional UN official languages (English)
