About UNAIDS:

MANDATE OF THE DEPARTMENT:
The Management Department promotes effective Operations of the Joint Programme, and provides overarching management functions in the areas of human resources, finance, budget, information technology and administration to enhance UNAIDS' capacity to implement its mandate and vision.

Within the Management Department, the Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) team ensures that information technology is a strategic enabler of the vision of Getting to Zero, and contributes to the transition from managing a disease to ending an epidemic. The DTS team makes possible new ways of collaboration, enables evidence-based decision making, facilitates greater sharing of knowledge and provides new tools to reach out and communicate with our key stakeholders and constituencies. To play this important role, the department is an agent of change, contributing to making UNAIDS work fast, smart and efficiently.
Main tasks and Responsibilities of the Position:
The Digital Solutions team (DSO) within Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) team is seeking a Consultant for an initial three-month engagement to support business analysis and requirements gathering for an artificial intelligence (AI)-based report generation project. This project aims to leverage AI to automate the creation of annual reports by summarizing existing reports and weekly updates. Key responsibilities include facilitating workshops to gather and validate requirements, preparing detailed project documentation, and ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders. Additionally, the Consultant will evaluate the functionality of the proposed AI solution, participate in its design review, and support project activities to ensure that business requirements are met. This role is critical in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the report creation process, ultimately improving the quality, consistency, and timeliness of UNAIDS reports. The Consultant may also work on other AI projects that are expected to be authorized by the UNAIDS Digital Board.

Tasks and Deliverables
1. Initial Engagement and Requirement Gathering (Month 1)
a. Task: Conduct initial stakeholder meetings and workshops.
Deliverable: Detailed stakeholder analysis and engagement plan.
b. Task: Review current process of report generation and existing documentation.
Deliverable: Current state analysis report.
c. Task: Gather and document business requirements.
Deliverable: Business Requirements Document (BRD).

2. Process Mapping and Analysis (Month 2)
a. Task: Conduct process mapping sessions for the current report workflows.
Deliverable: Process maps of the existing report workflows.
b. Task: Identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
Deliverable: Gap analysis report.

3. Requirements Specification (Month 3)
a.Task: Develop detailed functional and non-functional requirements based on gathered business requirements.
Deliverable: Functional Requirements Document (FRD) and Non-Functional Requirements Document (NFRD).
b.Task: Facilitate review sessions with stakeholders to validate requirements.
Deliverable: Requirements validation report and/or stakeholder sign-off.

4. Support for Solution Evaluation (Months 1-3)
a. Task: Assist in the evaluation of potential AI solutions against documented requirements.
Deliverable: Solution evaluation matrix and report.
b. Task: Gather feedback from stakeholders on the evaluated solutions.
Deliverable: Feedback analysis report.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Advanced university degree at the master’s level or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience:
Essential:

•At least 5 years of experience in business analysis and participation in software implementation projects on an international level.
•Technical background and experience in project management, SaaS solutions, system integration, data migration/analytics, and user training.
•Experience with process mapping.
•Experience in conducting workshops and stakeholder meetings to gather and validate requirements.
•Proven ability to document and communicate business requirements effectively.

Desirable:
•Change management experience in the implementation of new digital solutions.
•Familiarity with AI technology and/or large language models (LLMs).
•Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
•Experience with process reengineering methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
•Understanding of agile software development methodologies.
•Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications, particularly in natural language processing (NLP).

Skills/Knowledge

•Strong ability to work as a team player and achieve technical consensus in diverse teams.
•Ability to set and meet goals in a changing environment.
•Demonstrated reliability in providing service to non-technical users at all levels.
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts in layman’s terms.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
Languages:
•Advanced knowledge of English is essential.
•Working knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.
Additional Information:
Expected start and end date of contract (Duration): August 2024 (3 months)

Work schedule (if applicable) : CET 8AM to 6PM

This is a REMOTE position with NO Travel required.
Monthly salary: (Net of tax)
USD ~ 7000 per month at single rate
