MANDATE OF THE DEPARTMENT:
The Global Science, Systems and Services Practice has the goal of promoting, and accelerating sustainable, transformative actions and equitable, innovative solutions that maximize access to HIV services and sustain efficient HIV responses integrated into national systems for health, social protection, humanitarian settings and pandemic responses. It achieves these by: 1) using innovation for prevention, treatment and pediatrics, which covers the HIV treatment-prevention continuum and focuses on reaching the 95-95-95 target, 95% combination prevention targets and leaving no one behind; 2) forging productive partnerships with key global AIDS financing partners to ensure national leadership and ownership of AIDS response and maximization of investments, thus building the pathways for sustainability; and 3) integrating multisectoral approaches to HIV and health, and ensuring that community-led responses form part of national health systems and beyond.
Main tasks and Responsibilities of the Position:
Matrix-Reporting to the Director, Practice: Science, Systems and Services for All (SSA) and the Chief, Knowledge Management, the Officer, Knowledge Management is responsible for supporting the effective sharing and utilization of knowledge in the practice.

He /she has the following key responsibilities:

1. Knowledge management system implementation

a. Supports the setting up of the Practice's knowledge management system in full concordance with the corporate knowledge management strategy, roadmap, implementation plan and related policies and in liaison with the corporate knowledge management subject matter expert(s) if and as required.

b. In consultation with colleagues and under guidance as required, develops methods, processes and tools to identify and respond to knowledge gaps as they relate to the Practice, and proposes way forward to close these gaps. Monitors follow up actions accordingly and escalates any issues as required.

c. Cascades and adapts the corporate standard operating procedures and guidelines to the Practice's knowledge management system and supports their implementation.

d. Serves as a focal point for the Practice of any corporate-wide knowledge management initiatives such as learning programmes. Provides input into the design, architecture, creation, upgrade and substitutions of essential knowledge management infrastructure, as required by the corporate subject matter expert(s).

e. Provides targeted, on-call and on-demand support to colleagues in the team with the aim of improving knowledge management and sharing across the Practice.

f. Participates in knowledge management networks and keeps abreast of good practices to proactively seek innovation and continuous improvement of the knowledge management system in the Practice.

g. Produces ad hoc and periodic reports on knowledge management and other activities in the Practice.

2. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Essential: Advanced university degree at MasterĀ“s level or equivalent in Public Health, Communications, Information and Communication Technologies, Public Policy or Administration, Business Administration, or another field related to the responsibilities.

Experience:
EXPERIENCE
Essential: A minimum of two years of experience in information/knowledge management, innovation or a related field and/or in the area of public health, HIV response or similar.

Desirable: Demonstrated knowledge and sound understanding of the United Nations Joint Programming on HIV.
Languages:
Essential: Proficiency in English.
Desirable: Knowledge of additional UN official languages.
Additional Information:
Positions at the international professional category within UNAIDS will be subject to the Organization's Mobility Policy. The above mentioned position is a rotational position and its standard duration of assignment is linked to the ICSC hardship classification of the duty station.

Annual salary: (Net of tax)
USD 50,377 at single rate
Post Adjustment: 81 % of the figure(s) on the left side. This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
