MANDATE OF THE DEPARTMENT:
The Executive Office (EXO) provides vision, leadership and inspiration to UNAIDS. It highlights and drives emerging issues, focuses areas of work and steers the organization - positioning it as a global leader on ending AIDS. In performing these functions, EXO facilitates communication and coordination within UNAIDS and with partners while serving as a reference and intelligence hub. EXO is responsible for maintaining effective management practices within the organization to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of its operations.
Main tasks and Responsibilities of the Position:
Under the supervision of Head of Front Office and Strategic Engagement, with a matrix to the Communications Director, the incumbent will be expected to carry out the following tasks:

Write statements and pieces for the Executive Director for use in print, video, and social media.

Write, edit, design content for the UNAIDS Executive Director's social media channels, ensuring that content is accurate, accessible, informative, and engaging.

Manage social media coverage of Executive Directors' public and bilateral engagements on UNAIDS corporate social media channels.

Initiate high-level engagement in social media conversations on AIDS and related issues on behalf of the UNAIDS Executive Director in social media platforms.

Manage and enhance the social media profile of the UNAIDS Executive Director's social media assets including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other appropriate forums. This includes consistent and timely postings and ensuring postings are accurate and on message.

Develop and implement a social media strategy for the UNAIDS Executive Director, that evolves and adapts to specific activities and engagements as well as online trends and discussions.

Regularly monitor the analytics, trends, and engagement on social media platforms.

Connect, seek and foster relationships with super connector individuals, companies, and organizations and manage their engagement in social media platforms to increase the outreach of the UNAIDS Executive Director's messages and strategic goals.

Promote relationships with civil society and other partners for the outreach of UNAIDS messages as well as in undertaking joint social media campaigns.

Write features around the UNAIDS Executive Director's activities and engagements.

Liaise with the Executive Office and act as the focal point between the Executive Office and the Communications department on communication issues related to the Executive Director.

All other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Essential: Advanced university degree in media, communications, marketing, or related social sciences. For internal candidates, a first university degree and seven (7) years of relevant work experience will be considered as equivalent.

Desirable: Knowledge of graphic design, and video production.

Experience:
Essential: Five (5) years of professional experience in managing communication and social media projects, preferably with experience at the international level. Excellent writing abilities, knowledge of social media platforms, and technical skills for engaging with them. Demonstrated knowledge of AIDS issues, of communication practices, and producing information for web communities.

Desirable: Experience with governmental/international institutions or the UN System. Campaign planning and graphic design skills.
Languages:
Essential: Excellent knowledge of English.

Desirable: Working knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
Additional Information:
Positions at the international professional category within UNAIDS will be subject to the Organization's Mobility Policy. The above-mentioned position is a rotational position and its standard duration of assignment is linked to the ICSC hardship classification of the duty station.

Annual salary: (Net of tax)
USD 62,692 at single rate
Post Adjustment: 81 % of the figure(s) on the left side. This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
