MANDATE OF THE DEPARTMENT:
Our mission is to effectively position UNAIDS and our issues with key audiences. And to create, manage and share knowledge with partners and potential partners in the AIDS response. We will work across three areas: Communications, Content management and Web platform and Production.

Main tasks and Responsibilities of the Position:
Under the supervision of the Finance and Administration Associate, Communications and Knowledge Sharing Section, the incumbent supports the Communications team and is responsible for the following: 1. Provide Web support, proofread documents for Web site as well as assist 2nd line posting for communication related documents 2. Provide support to update the media page of the Web site, contact data base and support for media emails 3. Monitor the budget, provide analyses of allotments, identify liquidated and un-liquidated obligations 4. Review contracts to ensure availability of funds and either verifies documents or identifies concerns prior to forwarding for approval/signature Communications manager 5. Become proficient in ERP 6. Organize travel arrangements for the Communications team and CKS Chief and temporary advisors 7. Provide support services such as organizing meetings, related documents and logistics to team and to the manger of the team as needed 8. Undertake related assignments as required by the Finance and Administration Associate, Communications and knowledge sharing unit.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS |
Education: Completion of secondary school and training in secretarial and office administration/management functions or comparable academic preparation or work equivalent |
Competencies:
Strong prioritizing and organizational skills. Expertise in WORD, Excel, PowerPoint.

Experience:
At least four years administration and finance experience in international business environment. UN system finance and administration experience an asset.
|
Languages:
Fluency in English and French required. Working knowledge of another UN language an asset.
|
